I followed the tutorial on Stella’s Yarn Universe. I’ve been making some other amugurumi animals based on her tutorials and her instructions are really easy to follow so despite the complexity of the animal, making the horse has been very enjoyable process. My favourite part is attaching its mane and tail, when I trim the hair it really does feel like I'm bringing something to life.
The trickiest part of this project is the connection of the limbs. As I struggled with counting the connecting stitches in the otter and deer I made prior, I also had to redo the entire row several times when I had to connect the limbs of the horse to its belly. A trick I find useful is to put stitch markers in the upcoming row, such as before attaching the limbs, so I know if something goes wrong I can just undo until the last stitch marker instead of having to redo the entire round.
The end result is amazing and the shape of the plush makes it very life-like and realistic so I'm very happy I made it, and I would totally recommend anyone to try it.
